The Palmyra Fire Department Fire Line

January 20 - At 5:01 a.m., 911 dispatched firefighters to a report of a multiple vehicle accident on Route C near the Weatherstone Subdivision. Firefighters inspected both vehicles for hazards and assisted ambulance personnel with the injured. Firefighters returned to the station at 5:52 a.m.

January 20 - At 8:21 p.m., 911 dispatched first responders to a report of a patient with seizures at a residence on West New. First responders conducted an initial assessment of the patient and assisted ambulance personnel preparing the patient for transport to the hospital. Due to the nature of the patient's condition, one first responder drove the ambulance to the hospital. First responders returned to the station at 8:00 p.m.

January 21 - Firefighters conducted training on fighting structure fires, water supply operations and self-contained breathing apparatus usage.

January 22 - At 4:00 p.m., 911 dispatched first responders to a report of a patient with low blood pressure at Maple Lawn. As an ambulance was responding from Hannibal, first responders conducted an initial assessment of the patient and assisted ambulance personnel. First responders returned to the station at 4:29 p.m.

January 23 - At 2:36 a.m., 911 dispatched firefighters to a report of an individual threatening to commit suicide by jumping from the Quincy Bridge. The individual was located and the scene turned over to law enforcement and ambulance personnel. Firefighters returned to the station at 3:23 a.m.

Annual Fireman's Dance

The 22nd Annual Fireman's Dance will be held this year on Saturday, February 13th at the American Legion Hall in Palmyra. Fun with a purpose, this dance enables the department to raise funds to buy much needed equipment and supplies. Tickets are $7.50 in advance or $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased in advance from any fireman, at the Agri-Med Veterinary Clinic or at Napa Auto Parts. We'll see you at the dance!
